New Experience at Sequoia Grove Winery
Introducing “A Taste For Cabernet”

A Taste For Cabernet Wine & Food Experience opens new horizons for pairing food with Cabernet Sauvignon. At Sequoia Grove Winery, they believe that Cabernet Sauvignon and other red wines work with a much wider variety of dishes than the typical red wine, red meat “rules” would permit. Their philosophy for wine and food pairings focuses on making small adjustments to prepared dishes in order to preserve or enhance the flavors of the wine. But don’t just take our word for it – come see for yourself!  Settle in as you enjoy tasting top-tier Single-Vineyard and Reserve red wines expertly paired with a variety of cuisines prepared by in-house wine and food expert, Chef Britny Maureze.

Awards and Accolades

A zest for life and a pioneering spirit helped Sequoia Grove earn early recognition. The 1985 Cabernet Sauvignon won “Best American Cabernet Sauvignon” in the 1987 American Wine Competition. More recently, the winery was awarded “Best of Wine Tourism” by Great Wine Capitals of the World and received OpenTable’s “Best of Wine Country” award for the Terroir Tasting. Finally, high-ranking awards go to Sequoia Grove’s Napa Valley Cabernet which was a 2018 “Wine Spectator” top 100 Wines Award Winner. In that same year, the proprietary Cabernet-based 2015 Cambium blend was awarded 94+ points by Robert Parker’s “Wine Advocate.”

Sequoia Grove Chef Britnny

Chef-Inspired Food and Wine Pairings

Sequoia Grove has rapidly made its mark as a winery known for bold and innovative wine and food pairings. Winery Chef Britny Maureze consistently pushes the envelope, expertly pairing flagship red wines with less expected elements. Think fresh vegetables and fish rather than the typical red meat. “Britny’s goal is to give guests an ‘Aha’ moment that will demystify a wine and food pairing,” said Congress. “For instance, she’ll pair specific taste elements like salt and lemon to show which ingredients enhance a wine versus those that don’t.”
Chef Britny has made a name for herself over the past few years, building an acclaimed five-star guest experience. With a focus on showcasing the winery’s world-class Cabernet, she creates both traditional and non-traditional pairings. For guests, there are plenty of choices that range from high-end tastings paired with food to more casual offerings that can include seasonal cheeses and charcuterie.
