Ledson Winery, locally known as “The Castle,” specializes in crafting small-lot wines reflecting Sonoma County’s uniquely diverse winegrowing regions. The wines reflect a sense of place and showcase the art of premier winemaking. In fact, about 90% of Ledson wine is produced from estate-grown fruit, which allows winemaker Steve Ledson to meticulously farm his vineyards producing superior wine. Ledson Winery produces more than 60 different wines — up to 20 different varietals and blends from as many as 12 distinct appellations. You’re sure to discover a wine you will love!

The Ledson family has a long and rich agricultural history in Sonoma County dating back to the 1860s. The 150-year-plus Ledson legacy was built on hard work and land stewardship. The Ledson “Castle” is hard to miss on Highway 12, displaying true French Normandy-style architecture. The 16,000-square-foot structure was designed entirely by Steve Ledson and features sweeping staircases, marble fireplaces, cathedral-style windows, coffered ceilings, several tasting bars, and over five miles of ornate wood inlays and mosaics, which were hand-cut and installed by the Ledson Construction team. Tasting at the Winery

Ledson offers an astounding variety of beautiful wines. Select from award-winning Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, rosé, Pinot Noir, Grenache, Mourvedre, Carignane, Malbec, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, red blends, and a late harvest Zinfandel.
Ledson’s beautiful tasting rooms offer a sophisticated yet casual approach to exploring wine. The experienced staff is on-hand and eager to offer recommendations, provide information and guide you through your tasting. You can choose a private tasting, a seated tasting or a traditional tasting at one of their three meticulously designed tasting bars. Cheese and charcuterie plates are available to elevate your experience.  

If hunger strikes, the Ledson Winery Gourmet Marketplace offers delicious options from local purveyors, such as sandwiches, deli salads, charcuterie trays and much more. Choose from an extensive selection of locally produced gourmet items for purchase, including estate grown olive oil, artisan cheeses, meats and wine-infused chocolate sauces.

Helicopter Tours

Ledson is excited to offer a thrilling new way to experience Sonoma Wine Country: from the sky! Enjoy a flight from Hayward to the rolling bucolic vineyards of Sonoma County. This unique experience is for 2-4 guests arriving by helicopter to Ledson Winery, enjoying an intimate 90-minute private tasting. Private Wine Tastings include five of their finest wines in a private tasting suite conducted by one of their friendly and knowledgeable wine consultants, personally trained and mentored by Steve Ledson.

Your Own Vineyard Row

Ledson’s wine club offers the unique opportunity to have your own vineyard row!
As a Ledson club member you have the ability to “own” one or more vineyard rows surrounding the Castle planted to Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Your reserved row will be specifically marked with a personalized plaque and you will receive another plaque to display at home. Depending on the location of the vineyard row, some owners can even enjoy a private tasting at their vineyard row. Your estate grapes will then be harvested and blended into “Three Brothers,” a Bordeaux style wine. Each bottle of “Three Brothers” wine will display your personalized name to commemorate this special wine.
