Living in the San Fernando Valley, jumping in the car, thinking DAY TRIP…. we arrived at the wine town of Los Olivos in a little more than two hours.  The Larner Vineyard and Winery tasting room in Los Olivos is always welcoming.
Even in our Covid world, Larner’s tasting room is safely open seven days a week where you can relax, sip, and enjoy highly rated, award-winning liquid fruits of Michael Larner’s labor! The tasting menu will change, but you are always assured that there will be an excellent variety of Larner’s Estate wines. Specializing in Rhones, we were pleasantly surprised on this day to see a selection from Michael’s Earthfluence label: A zesty Grenache Blanc. Earthfluene is a special Larner project, grapes being sourced from distinct SYV vineyards, which highlight the terroir, from grapes not grown on the estate. WHAT a treat!

Larner’s Los Olivos tasting room may be the littlest tasting room in Los Olivos, but they are serving up big, bold, complex wines. So, if you are in the Los Angeles area, looking for a day trip – Larner is one not to be missed!  Reservations are not necessary, tastings are outside, but may be limited due to circumstances.  Larner, and the wine rooms of Los Olivos, are an easy day trip from the Los Angeles area … just do it!
While visiting the tasting room, pick up a hand-crafted sandwich at Panino, next door, to accompany your wine tasting.  And after you have relaxed with wine and food, you may want to browse through the diverse assortment of goods at the Los Olivos General Store, attached to the tasting room.
