Cornerstone Sonoma’s Outdoor Marketplace
The Ultimate 2021 Day Trip

Sonoma’s gateway to wine country offers sprawling gardens, world-class shopping and art, boutique wine tasting rooms and Sonoma’s most exciting new restaurant

Thanks to its myriad open-air spaces and elaborate seasonal gardens, Cornerstone Sonoma is the perfect al fresco retreat for those wishing to enjoy a safe, socially-distanced day out while dutifully following Sonoma County’s health and safety orders. Sprawling across nine scenic acres, Cornerstone Sonoma offers much for visitors to enjoy, and itsdynamic wine country marketplace features a collection of world-class shopping, boutique wine tasting rooms, international art exhibits, the famed Sunset Gardens, and the recently opened Folktable– an exciting new restaurant that punctuates its verdant setting by highlighting Sonoma’s agricultural abundance.

Folktable is the brainchild of Chef Casey Thompson, a former Top Chef star finalist, and her seasonally inspired menus and fresh ingredients are sourced from Cornerstone Sonoma’s own organic farms in addition to local purveyors and partners throughout Sonoma County. Folktable operates from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday, serving a smartly curated selection of breakfast and lunch, all available to enjoy at the restaurant’s spacious patio in accordance with Sonoma County’s recently updated current health and safety guidelines. Guests may also place orders at the counter for takeaway and are encouraged to take advantage of the ample outdoor seating options throughout the vast Cornerstone property.

Thompson said, “Given the state of the world, I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to open Folktable Restaurant. Its location couldn’t be more perfect – Cornerstone Sonoma offers so much in the way of open space and peaceful surroundings for our guests to wander through. You can forget all the noise in the world, enjoy a beautiful meal and just chill.”

Cornerstone Sonoma is also home to the onsite SBHG Gallery which is currently hosting a collection of rarely seen Salvador Dalí bronze sculptures and prints. The exhibit is presented in collaboration with The Dalí Universe, which manages one of the largest private collections of Salvador Dalí artworks in the world. SBHG Gallery at Cornerstone Sonoma offers free admission to view a selection of the famed Catalonian’s stunning sculptures and prints from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through June 2021. The individual pieces are also available for purchase, as well as for private viewings which can be scheduled by appointment only Mondays through Thursdays by contacting sbhggallery@cornerstonesonoma.com.

Dalí wrote extensively on the emotional experience of wine and its strong ties with art. He is credited with saying, "A real connoisseur does not drink wine but tastes of its secrets." As the geographic gateway between San Francisco’s cultural art hub and Sonoma’s world-famous wine country, Cornerstone Sonoma is the Bay Area’s perfect adoptive home for his works.

The exhibit fits right in on Cornerstone Sonoma’s expansive outdoor property, which includes breathtaking landscape designs inspired by the International Garden Festival at Chaumont-Sur-Loire, France, created by world-renowned and locally based landscape architects and designers, as well as specialty gardens curated in partnership with Sunset magazine for visitors to enjoy.

Debuting in early February, Cornerstone Market will be home to beautifully curated home décor, luxury gifts and specialty food items. Cornerstone Sonoma is also home to a collection of independently owned retail shops, including clothing store The Loop; exquisite home goods and lifestyle stores Eurasian Interiors and Potter Green & Co. Wine enthusiasts can explore two small-production, boutique winery tasting rooms Meadowcroft Wines and Obsidian Wine Co. – both with outdoor tasting patios.

Admission to the Cornerstone Sonoma is complimentary, and open to the public.  Its shops and tasting rooms are open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Folktable is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sonoma’s Best coffee kiosk is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All observe strict hygiene and social distancing guidelines in conjunction with Sonoma County’s most current COVID-19 order and stipulations.
