Since stepping on to the single vineyard wine scene in 2010, WALT Wines has earned a reputation for crafting extremely high quality, structured, balanced wines that have become favorites among Pinotfiles across the country. Guests are flocking to the winery’s now THREE distinct tasting room locations in downtown Napa, at the Sonoma Square, and most recently in Healdsburg, to experience a bevy of offerings for novices to expert wine tasters.
WALT was created to honor owner Kathryn Walt Hall’s parents Bob and Dolores Walt – originally wine grape growers who inspired the multi-generational family of vintners. WALT is dedicated to the production of premier Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the Pacific Coast’s most distinctive vineyard sites, spanning nearly 1,000 miles and including Sta. Rita Hills, Los Carneros, Sonoma County, Santa Lucia Highlands, Anderson Valley, and the Willamette Valley.
You can taste through the 1,000 miles of Pinot with the popular Root 101 culinary experience that includes virtual content of each vineyard to understand the “wines of a place” concept. The three WALT Pinot destinations enable day trippers from the Bay Area and jetsetters from up and down the coast to stop in and learn about aromas, flavor profiles, terroir, culinary pairings, technology, and sustainability. Each of the WALT tasting rooms offers a diverse line-up of tasting experiences for those looking to sip + savor in some of the best locations in Northern California wine country.

WALT fan favorites Pinots include Bob’s Ranch – its flagship wine which is released during the annual Bob’s Release Party each spring – Clos Pepe, Blue Jay, Sierra Mar, Rosella’s and Shea. WALT Napa, Oxbow District – 605 1st St, Napa, CA 94558 (Opened: 2019)

The 1500 square foot modern tasting room, directly across from the bustling Oxbow Market, features a three-dimensional, custom designed tasting bar comprised of an Italian-porcelain countertop, and the bar is illuminated with LED gold globes hanging above the countertop. The Hall’s extensive collection of modern art compliments the décor and experience. The location is walking distance to the Napa Riverwalk, Napa Fairgrounds – AKA Bottlerock – and a collective of tasting rooms, notable art galleries, high-end hotels and renowned restaurants.

Enjoy sipping library Pinot releases outside in the lush backyard under a stunning redwood tree. After the tasting take a stroll around the lovely Sonoma Plaza. This charming country house and backyard calms your soul while you have a focused experience learning about unique single vineyard wines.

INSIDER’S TIP: Wine & Chocolate Pairing – this new tasting is one of WALT Napa’s most booked reservations. Additionally, the Root 101 food and wine pairing invites guests to explore the diversity of terroir across 1,000 Miles of Pinot. The tasting features 5-6 single vineyard Pinot Noirs and food pairings from chef Bryan Jones.

WALT | BACA Healdsburg – 779 Westside Road, Healdsburg, CA 95448 (Opened 2019)

In this co-branded tasting room for both WALT and its sister brand BACA Wines, guests are invited to enjoy four diverse experiences overlooking the stunning Healdsburg vineyards. Its collection of modern art is populated throughout the venue and allows for a serene, picturesque tasting experience for all tastings.

INSIDER’S TIP: Crossroads Tasting – this tasting pays tribute to the unique location at the crossroad of Pinot Noir and Zinfandel Country and features WALT Pinots and BACA Zinfandels. The flight aims to educate, inspire the senses and introduce the flavor profiles of two of Sonoma’s most prominent varietals.
