From the Sacramento Valley down through the San Joaquin Valley, the Central Valley is one of California’s richest agricultural areas. Due to the focus on agriculture many of the towns in the area commemorate their harvests with festivals and celebrations throughout the year. The many rivers offer a wealth of outdoor activities and the cities such as Sacramento, Stockton, Modesto, Fresno and others each have distinctive qualities to interest the visitor.
