The Lodi appellation is nestled between the San Francisco Bay and the Sierra Nevada foothills. Lodi’s classic Mediterranean climate yields wines that are balanced and full bodied, with fruit-forward flavors and aromas. Today the hand-made, boutique wines of Lodi range from silky, aromatic whites to powerful, intensely satisfying reds. Over the last decade dedicated winegrowers have sparked a remarkable transition, creating a region teeming with wineries offering wines that are among California’s most sought after. In addition to Lodi’s signature grape Zinfandel, traditional varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay abound, and exciting new varieties like Pinot Gris, Verdelho, and Tempranillo entice more adventurous wines lovers to Lodi.
