Harvest is an Exciting Time to Visit Gallo If you’re visiting Wine Country this harvest, the Gallo Family invites you to stop by its tasting room, conveniently located on the town plaza in charming downtown Healdsburg.
The Gallo Family Vineyard Tasting Room specializes in walking wine appreciators of all levels through a fun and educational tasting experience designed to help visitors discover the wines most suited to their palates. Tastings begin with one or more of the wines from their Sonoma Reserve tier – Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Merlot, Zinfandel and Pinot Noir. After deducing a consumer’s preferences, the tasting moves into a more terroir- specific selection of single-vineyard wines that may include a stainless steel fermented Chardonnay from the Two Rock vineyard, or a big and earthy Frei Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. For those that wish to delve deeper into the experience, the tasting is capped off by limited-production Winemaker’s Signature Series wines that include such emerging varietals as Tempranillo and Petit Verdot.
In time for the fast-approaching holiday season, the Gallo Family tasting room also offers a wide variety of gift and Wine Country souvenir shopping. Unique wine bottle vases, men and women’s clothing, the latest in wine service accessories and the finest glassware are a sampling of the must-have items that are featured in the shop.
Visitors to the Sonoma County are also invited to “walk the land, touch the vines and taste the wine.” The Gallo family offers guided tours of their breathtaking Barrelli Creek Vineyard in Alexander Valley. As part of this hands-on vineyard experience, guests are treated to an educational look at winegrowing while tasting terroir-based wines amongst the vineyards.
