VJB Vineyards & Cellars celebrate its 5th anniversary by announcing the release of five limited-production Italian varietals at Festa Italiana, June 14th and 15th. The wines express the unique qualities of Sonoma Valley land – the beautiful blend of soil, exposure, weather and family tradition that unite and create exceptional wines to be enjoyed with family and friends. VJB produces just 4,000 cases annually which are sold exclusively from the tasting room in Kenwood. They will be releasing and celebrating their Italian heritage with these single-vineyard, limited-production wines: Tocai Friulano (200 cases produced), Sangiovese (200 cases produced), Primitivo (375 cases produced), Barbera (575 cases produced), Dante, VJB’s signature Super Tuscan blend (425 cases produced) and Estate Grown Cabernet Sauvignon, (400 cases produced). Festa Italiana will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 14th and 15th at VJB Vineyards & Cellars in Kenwood from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the site of the future Tasting Room, Barrel Cellar, Italian Marketplace and Educational Vineyard. Construction will begin on this new venture this summer and anticipate opening to the public in two years. In addition to the award-winning wines, guests will enjoy grilled Italian sausage sandwiches prepared by Owner/Executive Chef Maria Belmonte. Festa Italiana will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is $20 per person and includes logo glass, wine tasting and food pairing. There is no charge for Club Enoteca members. Reservations are not required. As in Italy, guests will begin the tasting with sparkling Prosecco. Next, discover Tocai Friulano, Sangiovese, Barbera and their Signature Super Tuscan Dante (85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Sangiovese). Sample the award-winning Primitivo, Estate Cabernet Sauvignon straight from the barrel and finish off with a little “dolce” of Barbera Port.
