Charles Creek Vineyard Hosts Armin Winter
In his first appearance at the Charles Creek Vineyard Tasting Room and Gallery, local artist and musician Armin Winter is currently showing a selection of recently completed paintings.
Inspired by nineteenth century photographs of Native Americans, Winters’ colorful acrylic on canvas works display a distinctly 21st century sensibility.
A native of Switzerland, now residing in Sonoma, Winter is both an accomplished musician – playing with notable performers such as Buddy Miles, John Lee Hooker and the Jerry Garcia Band – and a fine artist in his own right.
Winter’s CD “Nine Lives” (also offered for sale) may well be playing as you view his visual works in the Charles Creek Vineyard Tasting Room & Gallery through May 30.
Of course, the full experience at Charles Creek is to enjoy a viewing of the artworks adorning the walls while sampling the new and current releases from the winery.
Specializing in high-quality Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon from great vineyard sources in the Sonoma and Napa valleys, Charles Creek produces wines that are food friendly, fruit driven, and easily paired with the courses of a meal. In 2005 the winery opened a tasting room, situated in a charming 1890s era storefront on the historic Sonoma Plaza. In addition to wine tasting and sales, the tasting room also provides space to show the work of local artists. The Charles Creek Tasting Room and Gallery exhibit changes regularly, showcasing emerging talent as well as established artists.
The Charles Creek Vineyard Tasting Room and Gallery, open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to
6 p.m., is located at 483 First St. West in Sonoma. For more information, call (707) 935-3848 or email info@charlescreek.com.
