Napa’s La Residence Inn

Recently Acquired by

Craig & Kathryn Hall

Craig and Kathryn Hall, owners of HALL winery in the Napa Valley, have acquired La Residence, a luxury country inn located in Napa.

The 25-guest room, La Residence, debuted as an inn 21 years ago after the previous owners renovated The Mansion building on the property, which was built in 1870. Set amid vineyards, heritage oaks, pines and redwoods, the property has five buildings, including three that are used for guest rooms: The Mansion, The French Barn and The Cellar House. Landscaping and gardens, a pool and spa round out the setting on Howard Lane on the north end of Napa off Highway 29.

The Halls plan to enhance and upgrade La Residence and build it into one of the premier luxury inns in the Napa Valley. The Halls own luxury hotels in Paris and Dallas, and they acquired their first vineyard in the Napa Valley in 1995. They began making wine under their Kathryn Hall Vineyards label in the late 1990s, and in 2003 they acquired the old Napa Valley Cooperative Winery on Highway 29 in St. Helena, which is now HALL-St. Helena. The HALL winery in St. Helena is currently undergoing renovation under the direction of noted architect Frank Gehry A second winemaking facility, located at their vineyard in Rutherford, was completed in 2005 and is called HALL-Rutherford. Craig and Kathryn Hall own more than 500 acres of vineyards in Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Additional information is available at www.hallwines.com and www.laresidence.com.
