HISTORIC NAPA MILL

The Historic Napa Mill is the best starting point for visiting Napa. Located in the heart of Napa, this diverse complex of shops, restaurants, an art gallery, and the Napa River Inn provides something for everyone and puts the best of Napa within easy walking distance. Start your day with a delightful freshly baked pastry from Sweetie Pies or a hearty breakfast at the Napa General Store & Café. Sweetie Pies is Napa’s very own high-quality bakery, offering breakfast, light lunches and amazing desserts. The Napa General Store & Café is a unique updated version of a traditional country store, offering breakfast and lunch, and providing visitors with local artisan gifts, specialty food items, art and local wines. After breakfast, a short stroll along the Napa Riverfront will put you in the heart of downtown Napa, where you will find an amazing assortment of shops offering antiques, handcrafted items, clothing and much more. If shopping isn’t for you, then take a walk around historic downtown Napa and the Napa Abajo/Fuller Park District, one of Napa’s oldest neighborhoods with architecture dating back to the mid 1800s, including the Churchill Manor, Goodman Mansion, Yount House, Andrews House, the Historic Napa Mill, and the First United Methodist Church. Head back to the Historic Napa Mill for lunch, and in addition to Sweetie Pies and the Napa General Store & Café, you will find two more highly rated restaurants to choose from – Angèle and Celadon. Angèle offers a warm dining experience, with a menu that features rich and soothing French cuisine, while Celadon’s menu combines flavors of the Mediterranean and Asia, with a seasonal menu that reflects the freshest ingredients available. Take the afternoon to have a short walk to Copia, The American Center for Wine, Food and the Arts, or stroll to wine tasting at the handful of downtown Napa’s tasting rooms, where you can taste some of Napa’s best wines without any need of a car. Heading back to the Historic Napa Mill for dinner is the obvious choice, dropping your purchases off at your car or room before enjoying a meal at one of the restaurants you have not yet tried (or revisiting one you already enjoyed). Following dinner, relax with a massage offered through the Napa River Inn or spend some time perusing original art pieces featured at M J Schaer Art Gallery. To cap off your day, visit the Vintage Sweet Shoppe, where you will enjoy the flavors of mouth-watering handmade chocolates, made with nothing but the finest ingredients. Offering free parking and located within a five-minute walk from downtown Napa’s best stores, wine tasting rooms, Copia, the Napa Opera House, and fabulous architecture, the Historic Napa Mill is your central hub for visiting Napa. Historic Napa Mill is located at 500 Main Street in Napa. Visit the website at www.historicnapamill.com.
