Private Tours and Tastings – A Simi Experience

Simi Winery would like to invite you to participate in its Simi Experience Series. This series is a variety of private tours and tastings that should please everyone’s palate.

Historic Cellar Tour and Tasting
Simi is one of the most gorgeous settings in Healdsburg with century-old buildings made from hand-hewn basalt that dates back to the winery’s inception and manicured gardens with roses and cork trees planted by Isabelle Simi. The tour will guide you through the historic cellars and winery grounds. This informative tour concludes with a private wine tasting. The tour is $15 per person with a minimum requirement of 10 people.

Historic Cellars Tour, Current & Older Vintage Wine Tasting
This grand addition to their touring line-up is a truly historic and educational twist to the Historic Cellar Tour. Guests will enjoy the same famous production tour as in the previous tour, with a tasting of three older vintage wines from Simi’s famous wine library. This tour is a wonderful offering to tantalize the curious palate. The tour is $30 per person with a minimum requirement of 10 people.

Wine and Cheese Pairing Seminar
Four local Sonoma County artisan cheeses are paired by Simi’s Chef Eric Lee with Simi Sonoma County wines. Enjoy the Historic Cellar Tour and finish off with an appetizing private wine and cheese pairing seminar that includes the following pairings: Sauvignon Blanc with goat cheese Crottin, Chardonnay with Matos Saint George, Merlot with Vella Dry Jack, and Cabernet Sauvignon with Carmody from Bellwether Farms. The tour is $25 per person with a maximum of 12 people.

Chardonnay Appellation Seminar
Simi Winery is located in the Alexander Valley next to the Dry Creek Valley and within Russian River Valley. Their Sonoma County Chardonnay grapes come from as far away as Los Carneros. The reason for the use of grapes from these diverse appellations is to give the wine distinct and unique flavors found in these regions that impact the final product that Simi’s fine winemaking is famous for.  The guest will taste up to three barrel samples of different regions and compare old oak versus new oak barrels. The tour is $25 per person with a maximum of 12 people.

Landslide Vineyard Special Block Seminar
The block seminar is designed around their Landslide Vineyard to educate the consumer how distinct each individual block impacts the final blending by their master Winemaker Steve Reeder.  Landslide is one of Alexander Valley’s most complex, as it sits at the convergence of ancient geological commotion, it is comprised of numerous soil types and microclimates. The diversity of this vineyard gives the Simi winemaking team a single vineyard Cabernet with a great range of flavors. The guest will taste up to four individual blocks and three varieties within Landslide Vineyard’s micro-climactic variations. The tour is $50 per person with a maximum of 12 people.
All of the tours in the Simi Experience Series are offered by appointment only and a minimum 24-hour notice is required.

Simi Winery is located at 16275 Healdsburg Avenue in Healdsburg. You can reach them by phone at (707)  473-3213 or visit their website at www.simiwinery.com.
