at St. Francis Winery
Your senses might just go on overload when visiting St. Francis Visitors Center in the fall. The mission-style building, with its baked clay coloring is set off by Mediterranean gardens resplendent in their seasonal hues. Views of sweeping vineyards and Hood Mountain are breathtaking, the tasting room is made even cozier with a roaring fire, and the myriad of tasting opportunities further titillates the imagination.
Historically, St. Francis has a national reputation and local following for excellence in what they consider the “basics;” outstanding wines, exceptional food and staff who are committed to exceeding visitors expectations. Director of Hospitality, Tricia Stock, orchestrates these elements and presents them to the public with an array of tasting and educational opportunities. She encourages visitors to experience Slow Wine; wine and food shared with friends without pretense or circumstance.
Visitors may choose to sample wines at the bar while nibbling on an amuse bouche or take a seat to savor the stunning Wine & Charcuterie tasting. Showcased with these tastings are many of Winemaker Tom Mackey’s Artisan Series wines available only at the winery. These small production jewels, from Sauvignon Blanc to Heritage Zinfandels, are handcrafted to release the essence of Sonoma County terroir.
All of the tasting options are hosted by arguably the friendliest, most wine-educated, staff in the Wine Country who help guests learn about the combination of flavors in a fun, informative way. For the oenophile who wants more, our Certified Sommeliers can offer in depth educational experiences from the vine to the wine.
St. Francis Winery Visitors Center offers a holiday cornucopia of unique gifts; specialty etched wine bottles, decadent chocolates to appeal to everyone. All are invited to join St. Francis Winery November 23th and 24th from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for a wonderful Holiday Open House filled with wine, food and friends.
