Guest Winery! Exploring the Wines of the Sierra Foothills, Quintessential Wines of the World
Ever since the first gold nugget was discovered in the Sierra Foothills, the region has attracted dreamers, innovators, and pioneers. The Sierra Foothills region also has a rich history of winemaking that goes back to the 1840s and the California Gold Rush. The Kautz family, who has been growing grapes in the area for more than 100 years, has struck gold of a different kind in the Sierra Foothills with their state-of-the-art winery and highly acclaimed wines.
With more than 6,000 acres of vineyards in the Sierra Foothills and Lodi, the Kautz family has been an essential part of the region’s winemaking history. The family has been making wine since 1988 under the Ironstone brand, which represents well-crafted and approachable wines that showcase some of California’s best under-the-radar terroir.
Join Joan Kautz, who represents the fourth generation of the Kautz family, as she guides a tasting of Ironstone’s flagship “Reserve” wines, showcasing the terroir of the Sierra Foothills.
