Named after the mission in San Luis Obispo, Tolosa embodies everything that San Luis Obispo is – scenic, forward thinking, environmentally minded and relaxing. Situated just outside of San Luis Obispo, Tolosa is the gateway to the Edna Valley and with a variety of tasting options it’s a perfect stop on a day trip through Edna Valley.

Guests can choose from traditional tastings in the stunning, modern tasting room. There is a house flight as well as a limited release flight. On Saturdays and Sundays guests can enjoy a flight of reserve wines paired with artisan cheeses in the Heritage Room overlooking the vineyards. The cheese menu varies weekly, but always includes an international variety of delicious cheeses. For those wanting a more in depth understanding of the winemaking process, Tolosa offers a self-guided tour that begins overlooking the vineyard and continues into the tasting room that looks down into the tank room. Very much designed like a museum self-guided tour, the experience adds more knowledge to the tasting. Tolosa also offers a “Past, Present and Future” tour (by appointment only) which highlights its history, the history of the area, the present releases and includes a barrel tasting of future wines. There is also an opportunity to purchase futures on this tour.

With a multiple options for tasting, a strong portfolio of wines and an amazing outdoor space to sit and enjoy the day, Tolosa is a perfect setting with amazing ambiance just minutes from town.

COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Tolosa’s vineyards are all sustainably farmed and SIP (Sustainablity in Practice) certified. Since 2009, Tolosa has run on solar energy. All water used in the winery is recycled to water vineyards. Tolosa is committed to the three E’s of sustainability – Environmentally friendly, Equitable, Socially and Economically Feasible

HISTORICAL FACT
Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa was founded in 1772, hence Tolosa’s barrel select labels – “1772.”

EVENTS
Tolosa hosts exciting and creative events throughout the year – a progressive dinner in Shell Beach, a meteor shower viewing party and participates annually in the  SLO Vintner’s Roll Out the Barrels and Harvest Festival.
