Tour the Acclaimed “Le Petite Clos” and Demonstration Vineyards

Without a doubt, one of the finest ways to learn more or be introduced to the exceptional world of wine is to take a tour of Pine Ridge vineyards any day starting at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. 

For a $25 fee, you will follow a trained wine professional through one of two vineyards:

Le Petite Clos Vineyard is a fully enclosed, 1.7-acre vineyard.  As a guest, learning an appellation, let alone its microclimate may seem daunting.  But with this easy-to-follow tour and one-of-a-kind lesson vineyards, each visitor will see, learn of, and literally feel the classic microclimate of famed Napa Valley.

The Pine Ridge Demonstration Vineyard will teach you not only about varietal characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot but also give you insight into the more nuanced world of clonal selections and various root stocks.  Only half of an acre, this vineyard sits adjacent to the tasting room and is easily accessible for all visitors.

Each tour traces the development of a bottle of wine – from vines, to grapes, fermentation to barrel aging in the caves.  Guests will begin in the vineyard before heading to the Fermentation Cellar and finally end with a private wine and cheese pairing at the very back of the Pine Ridge 4,600 barrel wine cave.  

Wine served includes a chilled Viognier or Dijon clone Chardonnay, the Carneros Merlot, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon and the Fortis, the proprietary blend from only Pine Ridge’s finest barrels.

Pine Ridge recently expanded its critically acclaimed red wine and Chardonnay portfolio to produce a simply superb rosé.  Created in the saignee method, this rosé is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.  Pine Ridge produced only 425 cases and just released this marvelous wine in time for summer. Available at $20 per bottle.
