Sequoia Grove Winery
THE PERFECT WINE COUNTRY ESCAPE
Sequoia Grove Winery has long been a hidden gem in the Napa Valley, known to insiders for its warm hospitality and wines which express complexity, balance and an authentic sense of place. Now there’s one more reason to add this iconic Rutherford winery to your next Napa Valley itinerary: The Sequoia Grove Chef’s Table Experience. Sequoia Grove’s newly constructed and stunningly appointed Cambium Room offers an intimate wine and food experience that’s like no other. Tucked away in this private room, the Sequoia Grove Chef’s Table features a five-course tasting menu paired with award-winning wines for an unparalleled sensory experience.
The Chef’s Table Experience features culinary creations from Winery Chef Britny Maureze, a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, who honed her culinary skills over ten years in the Napa Valley, crafting menus for Chateau Montelena Winery, Signorello Estate, and most recently, St. Supery Estate. Chef Britny’s menus highlight seasonal garden produce as the best way to enhance enjoyment of wine, and the menu will change throughout the year as the best ingredients available change with the seasons.
Chef Britny has designed this menu primarily to optimize the enjoyment of Sequoia Grove’s top-tier Cabernet Sauvignon wines, but there are a few surprises along the way. Currently, the experience opens with a brief tour through a demonstration vineyard, a splash of Napa Valley Chardonnay and a delightful Dungeness crab cake. The experience continues with more unexpected and brilliant pairings such as black cod with garam masala and pickled plum sauce paired with a single-vineyard Cabernet Franc and a vegetarian ricotta gnocchi dish served with Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Chef’s Table is perfect for anyone hoping to unlock the mystery of a good wine and food pairing or simply wanting to indulge in a new culinary delight. A knowledgeable and friendly wine specialist will lead you through each course of extraordinary cuisine and take time to explain exactly how each pairing works so well, however unexpected it might be. Sequoia Grove’s Chef’s Table is limited to 16 guests per seating and is offered Thursday through Monday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Reservations can be made through OpenTable, at www.sequoiagrove.com or by calling the winery at 707-944-2945, extension 128.
In addition to this new elevated experience, Sequoia Grove has several other tastings available. Among them are the ever-popular A Taste for Cabernet and the Cabernet Culinary Challenge — both are must-do experiences for Cabernet Sauvignon lovers. These private, educational, small-group seated experiences teach the basic tenants of a successful wine and food pairing. If you’d prefer to relax and soak in the beautiful Napa Valley weather while enjoying your experience, savory Cheese and Charcuterie plates are now offered on the outdoor patio as an add-on to the Current Release and Single-Vineyard Tastings.
Sequoia Grove has been a Napa Valley destination for 40 years, but their new experiences offer countless new reasons to pay this Rutherford gem a visit. There’s something for everyone planning a visit to Wine Country. Make sure your time in the Napa Valley is unforgettable by stepping away from the ordinary and indulging in the extraordinary. This memorable, welcoming winery in the heart of Rutherford is open seven days a week, from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Give them a call!
