Tastings are by appointment only from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, they last approximately 45 minutes and are $25 per person.
Rombauer Vineyards is passionate about quality, hospitality and the production of world-class wines. They want their guests to come away from the experience, knowing they’re genuine and authentic: They’re the real deal.
• Rombauer Vineyards is known for their iconic styled Chardonnay. Since 1982, they have been producing this white varietal. Eight years later, the Rombauer family made their first Chardonnay from the Carneros region. The cool climate and clay soils offer perfect conditions for growing superior Chardonnay with intense fruit flavors balanced by fresh acidity.
• Rombauer stands behind their new varietal Sauvignon Blanc. A bright, higher acidity wine, that is turning heads in the wine industry. Introduced with the 2014 vintage, the Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc marks an exciting milestone for Rombauer—the first new varietal in more than 20 years and only the second white wine in their 35-year history.
A Legacy in the Making
In 1972, founders Koerner and Joan Rombauer brought their two children, two horses and five dogs to Napa Valley. They came with a deep appreciation for the intimate relationship that exists between food and wine. This appreciation was born out of great aunt Irma Rombauer’s authored creation of the internationally renowned cookbook the Joy of Cooking. In addition, his ancestors were born and raised in the fertile wine-growing region of Rheingau, Germany, having an influence on Koerner. In 1980, out of a passion for family traditions, good food and good wines, Rombauer Vineyards was established in 1980.
Thirty-eight years later, the winery remains owned and operated by a multi-generational family. Second generation family members Koerner KR Rombauer III and Sheana Rombauer remain intricately involved in the strategic running of the winery. Today, third generation granddaughter Reagan Blackwood plays a critical role in Rombauer’s market exportation.
