Napa Valley Wine Train
The Santa Train is Coming to Town
The holiday season is a special time in Napa Valley.
Downtowns are aglow with Christmas lights and boutique shops offer a unique array of handcrafted gifts for your loved ones. The vines are dormant and the cool air brings reprieve from what sometimes feels like a never-ending season of heat in Northern California. If we’re lucky, rain will fall and replenish the land. But there’s one thing in Napa Valley that makes the holiday season extra special: the Santa Train, running from November 19th through December 28th, and inviting all families both local and out of town alike to enjoy the magical ride.
The Napa Valley Wine Train, much-loved by all who’ve experienced this extravagant ride, is excited to continue its tradition of the Santa Train—a unique Napa Valley experience for families. Featuring games, sing-alongs and holiday characters, kids will enjoy the magic of Christmas while sipping hot cocoa and eating freshly-baked cookies during this interactive adventure. “The Santa Train is a special experience that allows families to enjoy the holiday season together in a unique way,” says Scott Goldie, co-CEO and partner of the Napa Valley Wine Train.
The journey begins at the train station and ends at Santa’s toy workshop in the North Pole. Santa and friends are on a mission and need help from the kids on the train to bring Jolly Bear back to Santa’s toy workshop! Each tiny helper will receive a special Jolly Bear Christmas tree ornament. Activities during the ride include games, songs, writing letters to Santa and more. Additional snacks and beverages, for both kids and adults, are available for purchase and include: pbj sandwiches, goldfish crackers, apple sauce and fruit for the kids, and cheese, crackers, chips and hummus for adults.
The Santa Train is unlike any other holiday experience and promises to be a magical, memorable ride for all families onboard. Parents will delight in watching their kids’ faces light up as they interact and sing-along with Santa and friends, and kids will soon not forget this special journey to Santa’s workshop. To capture this special experience, the Santa Train will have a photo booth and social media booth available at the train station—now you can share this experience with friends and family!
Ticket to Dream
The Napa Valley Wine Train is excited to announce that for the third year in a row, they have partnered with the Ticket to Dream Foundation and invited hundreds of foster children aboard the Santa Train this holiday season, free of charge. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to work with local foster children and invite them to join us through our partnership with Ticket to Dream Foundation as supporting the community is always a priority for the Napa Valley Wine Train team,” Goldie says.
In addition, the Santa Train will be hosting a Secret Santa Toy Drive from November 1st through December 18th. Riders who are interested in donating new and unwrapped gifts can bring them along and donate them at the train station where the Santa Train journey begins. Toys, books, games, movies and gift cards are welcomed!
