Leading the entire site project was Alydia Atkins, the Director of Communications, Visit Mendocino County, Inc. “After careful research, we created a new site that provides easy access to the information visitors want fast.  We partnered with Venture Web Design, a site design and programming company that came up with smart solutions and a great look.  To build the best searchable site, we even recruited local businesses, inns and event directors to enter fresh data.  When the site went live this week, and the gorgeous coastal and inland images popped up on computers around the world, we could almost feel the “WOW” factor over the Internet.

According to Atkins, the new site is organized simply and logically, with a key emphasis on events, accommodations and directories for food and wine.  The new video section enables local businesses to share their story online, and for visitors to take a video tour of destinations.  Some of the other key site benefits include quick traveler tools and social media elements like Twitter and Facebook to stay completely updated on news from the county.
