The Comstock family is no stranger to Dry Creek Valley
Proprietors Bob and Sandy Comstock purchased their personal vineyard in 2002, and began farming some of the regions classic varietals. Over the years, discussion of creating a family winery grew to the point that when the ideal location became available, they jumped at the opportunity to build their dream.
After securing the location, top priority was given to finding a winemaker that shared the vision and the desire to create wines that speak to the regional uniqueness found in different parts of Sonoma County. Sourcing fruit from Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley, Alexander Valley and Dry Creek Valley gives veteran winemaker, Chris Russi, the ability to showcase the truly individual characteristics of each varietal.
The state-of-the art cellar includes two concrete eggs made just for Comstock Wines. Here, Russi is able to create their small-lot, hand-crafted wines, which include his signature Viognier. Custom berry sorting equipment also ensures that the quality of fruit is top-notch. In addition to the Viognier, their portfolio includes Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Zinfandel (Dry Creek, Old Vine, Russian River and Rockpile!), Cabernet Sauvignon.
The estate Old Vine Zinfandel Vineyard, which is estimated to be over 110 years old, anchors Comstock Wines. As guests enter the property, they are greeted with a sweeping view of the estate Merlot vineyards, framed by hundred-year-old olive trees. The modern tasting room is dotted with personal touches, including Dry Creek aggregate that was collected from the creek at the Comstock’s personal ranch and has been incorporated into the custom concrete tasting bar top.
The experience at Comstock Wines goes well beyond the glass

In addition to their daily tasting flight, the team offers custom blending seminars, cheese pairings tailored to showcase each of their Zinfandels , terrace lunches and winery tours. They look forward to sharing time and wine with you, at Comstock Wines.
