Chateau Adoré Rounds Out Another Year

Shoshana Hebshi

It’s been 21 years since Chateau Adore opened its tasting room off Old Redwood Highway in Santa Rosa. In that time, the family-owned winery has won numerous international and national awards, including honors from the Sonoma County Harvest Festival and the San Francisco Chronicle, created three labels and welcomed visitors from around the world to tour and taste at its estate vineyard and tasting room.

Celebrate with Wine Specials
Owner James Wong is rolling out wine specials to help celebrate this anniversary
Visitors can enjoy new vintages of the Estate Chardonnay and Estate Pinot Noir, as well as half price on a third bottle when buying two bottles of any of wine in Chateau Adore’s library.

The extensive library offerings include Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Merlot, and a red and a white blend. Wong sources his grapes from throughout California’s premier wine-growing regions, including Napa Valley and the Sierra Foothills.

Don’t Miss
A visit to Chateau Adore would not be complete without a taste of its Red Onion wine, the only one of its kind, according to Wong, made commercially in the United States.

Often homemade in Korean and Japanese culture, the red onion wine is said to have healing properties, including relief from migraines, more restful sleep, relief from joint pain and lowering high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Wong says if visitors bring a bottle of this wine back to their mothers, she will certainly appreciate the gift.

Daily Tasting
As part of its anniversary celebration, Chateau Adore is open for tastings Thursday through Sunday from noon to 5:00 p.m. Tastings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are available by appointment. Visitors can come into the tasting room to learn about the wines and taste, then take a bottle out to the arbor-covered patio to enjoy the Sonoma County sunshine and surrounding vineyards. Wong said vineyard tours area available to visitors upon request.

Make Your Mark
Chateau Adoré specializes in creating private labels for boutique wineries as well as for individual special occasions, such as birthdays, weddings and anniversaries. Many of these private labels are on display in the tasting room.

If you’re feeling like marking a special occasion with customized wine, Wong can handily give you ideas. The winery will also deliver wine anywhere in the world.

A Convenient Picnic Spot
Not too many wineries are as close to a city center as Chateau Adore, which makes a visit to the winery convenient and enjoyable. Chateau Adore welcomes picnics on its patio. Just a few miles from downtown Santa Rosa, grab a picnic lunch from one of the many restaurants or delis and take it up the road to enjoy the serenity and wine of Chateau Adore.
