Don’t Miss Calistoga’s Winter in the Wineries Passport through February 3
Calistoga became its own AVA within the Napa Valley in 2010 due to its unique terroir and the only AVA in the Napa Valley with 100% volcanic soil. While there are some large, well-known wineries, Calistoga is also known for its small, local family-owned businesses. Here, you are likely to talk with the owner or winemaker during your tasting. When you visit one of the wineries, it is as if you are a guest in their home.
That makes the experience more special.
The Napa Valley is most closely associated with Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition, wineries also produce Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Charbono, Viognier, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. You are certain to find some new favorites with more than 50 wineries from which to choose. Due to the smaller nature of these wineries, many are open by appointment only.
